Nocturnal Instincts Forged in Their Time at War

The original painting is 24 x 30 Inches, oil on linen, and was originally shown at the Briscoe Museum in San Antonio for the 2017 Night of Artist show.

"After the civil war a lot of confederate soldiers decided to go west to start over and leave the trauma behind. Some of them were hired on the cattle trail and started to work as cowboys. In this painting, I wanted to imagine that this guy has travel with his horse, they had been together through battles and still are, knowing each other like no one else. In that scene he is watching cattles probably and the horse as well. They are both listening to the night."
