“In The Middle Runs A River”

36x32 inches.
Oil on linen

“I am always astonished and fascinated when I stand at about 5000 feet above see level and look down at the Colorado river. From the top of the red cliffs of Canyonland , Utah, the sight of this tiny little stripe has a magical and mystical tone to it. It seems to be running slow motion, quietly. “

“Tuah Tah”

“Tuah Tah”
54x80 inches.
Oil on linen.

“I asked Lyle : “How was Taos called before the Spaniards came. How you guys called yourselves?”

Lyle answered : “ Tuah Tah. That's how we called the Pueblo people. ”

Then I asked : “And how did you call the area north of the Pueblo, the ocean of sage by the gorge, depicted on the painting?”

He answered: “Tuah Tah""

So I said : “ so everything is Tuah Tah?

And he responded ; “Yes. The people and the land. It's the same. This is our land where we always been and will always be. “Tuah Tah"

So I figured I called this painting “Tuah Tah” in honor of the Pueblos who inhabite this majestic land that we call Taos.”

“Living With The Mountains”

48x38 inches
Oil on linen.

“The pure air and crystal clear sky that mountains in Colorado can bring was the inspiration for that piece. A moment in time where the rider takes a moment to observe the beauty of Mother Nature.”

“Sonoran Magnestism

48x53 inches
Oil on

This painting expresses the feeling of a late summer ride in the sonoran desert in Arizona. When the monsoon thunderheads are taking the sky and the air becomes electric, magnetic. The riders on the photo are working cowboy Chris O’Connor and Beau Ellis.”

“Superstition, The Land Of Thorns”

“Superstition, The Land Of Thorns”
58x60 inches. Oil on linen.

“After a long day riding, these three cowboys are headed back to the ranch. Far In the back you can see a piece of the Superstition Mountains. This area close to Phoenix Arizona is one of My favorite.”

The Horse Whisperer

Oil on Linen

“This is a special piece of a special man. Grant Golliher from the Diamond Cross ranch in Wyoming. This man has a very special relationship with horses. Being around him was such an incredible experience as you get to feel what life could have been centuries ago. This could be your dad or your grandpa. Grant is the quintessence of the American Cowboy.”

Entering the Shrine

Oil on Linen

“I think this piece is on the top 3 of my favorite. It’s the quintessential of my vision of Taos after living there for 2 years. A vision of the past but also present. These 2 Pueblo natives are bringing us with them to enter the sacred valley of taos. A scene that could have happen 100 years ago but also today.”

Emerald Sky

Oil on Linen

“Another very recent piece. The accentuate design of the riders and the nature around them was my motive for this painting. I had sketch these two riders years ago and always loved the sketch. I needed to find the right background and mood to finally come up with the final piece. I love this one for its illustrative, almost Maxfield Parish vibe.”

Silence of the Canyon Walls it stand out

Oil on Linen

“The Grand Canyon at night under a bright moon is a sight to see. The silence of the immensity is haunting.

I always liked to paint riders on the edge of a cliff. It’s a classic theme that never gets old to me. The dramatic view is always a perfect background to create an incredible depth.

The rider on the painting is my friend Beau Ellis a cowboy from Arizona and his horse Floyd, that you can also both see on my painting “Electric Desert”.
